The parties have tentatively agreed to extend the following collateral agreements and agreements for the 21-23 contract: The traditional core league contract of 1199 is based in the hospital industry of New York and Long Island, where dozens of institutions form the League of Voluntary Hospitals and Homes for Collective Bargaining with our union. Contract 1199SEIU/League is a framework agreement that covers tens of thousands of hospital employees. This is the `standard contract` whose conditions we are trying to fulfil – wages, social benefits and protection of workers – throughout our Union. Many hospitals and medical centers outside the league have «me-too» contracts modeled on those in the league. Arbitration Panel – The employer proposed to add one of the arbitrators to the union`s proposal for the period from August 1, 2021 to January 1, 2023. Under this proposal, this arbitrator could be admitted to the MSB after 1 January 2023 by mutual agreement between the parties. Overtime – The parties have provisionally agreed that for RCS, only time worked more than 40 hours during the defined work week from Monday to Sunday will be paid at the overtime rate. SEIU/1199 – Ohio State Agreement in Principle 2021-2024 Multi-Campus Voluntary Standby – The employer has proposed to create a pool of multi-campus voluntary calls by classification. Where appropriate, the pool could include workers/members of different collective bargaining units and/or be represented by different trade unions. The classifications used for the voluntary reserve pool (call pool) are determined by the employer. The employer would develop a process for employees to register for the voluntary reserve pool (appeal pool) for classification, and employees could remove their names from the volunteer pool at any time. The employer would use the voluntary reserve pool (call pool) to fill reserve shifts and/or call employees to work at Harborview, UWMC-Montlake or UWMC-Northwest if necessary. Regardless of where the employee is called upon to work, the employee`s compensation would be based on the conditions outlined in the employee`s original collective agreement.
Negotiations for the period 2021-2023 – In response to the employer, the union withdrew its proposal that the employer would provide a period of paid leave for one member for every 100 grants for negotiations on the successor agreement. Instead, the union suggested that the employer would grant paid leave to 20 members. In addition, the Union maintained its initial proposal for negotiations for the period 2021-2023.
